christmas comes to savannah in its own way

the leaves drift golden
late
it is december
winter is fall here
fall is indian summer
and spring is all abloom mid march

but the colors are right
the colors are inherently right

the emerald city

my glittering home. i am homesick for the blue dusk punctuated by red stop lights. the tunnels of avenues. floating from one neighborhood to another. the long walking. the met. the upper eastside. the excellence. the bite of frost. and atlas at rockefeller center. he's always there. ever straining, and golden.

on halloween night

there may have been
witches and goblins
flying round the bell tower
and dracos slitherin' past the moon
whilst we slept fast in our beds
